Size & Fit Guide

The Nuw app brings together a huge range of high street and luxury brands for you to enjoy. However, we have no control over how individual brands size their garments. So please take care when deciding which size is best for you, as this may vary depending on the piece.

Below is our Size & Fit Guide to help make the process as stress-free as possible.

For the lender

We find it best to put as much information as possible in your description on the app. Tell the borrower or swappee how the item fits on you and why. For example, “ This dress comes above the knee on me but I am 5’10, so quite tall”. Or if there are no specifics on the size and fit tell them it's “true to size”.

It also helps to answer any questions the borrower or swappee might have in relation to size and fit with as much information as possible as we want to maximise those post borrow/swap good vibes.

For the borrower

The one thing no one wants, is to receive an item that doesn't fit. To avoid any disappointment, we ask our lenders/swappers to provide as much information as possible for you. We suggest you read the description on the app, ask the lender/swapper any relevant questions and refer to our How to Measure Yourself guide below.

However it's important to remember that size and fit varies from brand to brand. So if you’re still not sure, take your measurements and head over the brand’s website and check their size measurements against your own.

How to Measure yourself

If you’re not 100% sure what your dress size is, we recommend taking your measurements and comparing them to the size guide on the brand’s website or check them against our size chart below.

Here’s the best way to accurately measure yourself:

1.Bust

Using a measuring tape, measure across your shoulder blades and around the fullest part of your bust.

2.Waist

Measure around your natural waistline, this is generally an inch above your belly button.

3. Hips

Keep your feet together and measure around the widest part at the top of your hips.

Now, simply use these measurements to find your size on the chart below*
