For Borrowers
Each time an item is borrowed on Nuw, we offset 25% of the resources that would have been used in the production of a new item. Keep up the good work!
Can I really borrow an unlimited amount?
Yes! The Nuw community is built on fairness. In order to borrow, we ask that you lend out one of your own pieces. If we think someone is making borrows unfairly, we may have to ask them to leave the platform.
Who can I borrow from?
You can borrow from fellow sharers in the country where your location is set, which can be found in your account details. In order to borrow an item you must upload an item first to be lent out. Treat pieces with respect but don’t be afraid to have fun – just like you would with your own clothes.
How long can I borrow an item for?
You can request to borrow a piece for as long as you like. Need a dress for a few days? A blazer for a month? Just ask. However, we ask that you be considerate of other sharer's when booking pieces for longer periods.
What if the item is not as described when received?
Please contact the Lender/Swapper and explain the issue providing imagery where necessary. If agreed, the cost to return the item falls with the Lender/Swapper. If the issue can not be resolved please contact the Nuw team, info@thenuwardrobe.com.
How do I arrange to collect/ return a piece that I am borrowing?
Once your request to borrow a piece has been approved, a chat group between the borrower and the lender is created within the app. Here you can arrange the share, agreeing to meet and collect/return in person or choose from one of our delivery options.
What do I do if I damage an item?
Our borrower-lender contract means pieces are safeguarded in case of damage.
When uploading a piece the lender specifies the current value of the item. We ask our members to treat pieces with respect but don’t be afraid to have fun – just like you would with your own clothes.
Should something happen, either the borrower or lender can notify the Nuw team. Both parties can agree on whether to repair the item or reimburse the item. The payment for the decided course of action is the responsibility of the borrower.
Nuw oversees this process to ensure that both parties are protected and that all members have a good experience.
